Commissioned by the Theatre Royal from playwright Bernard Farrell, to celebrate the reopening of the theatre in 2009 after a closure of 2 years for renovations.
By special arrangement with their former librettist and producer Alfred Bunn, the composers William Vincent Wallace and Michael Balfe return from the dead for a limited number of performances to regale us with the exploits of their colourful lives and to renew their friendly and sometimes not so friendly – rivalry.
