A Screening of the 1996 Film

Baz Lurmann’s

ROMEO+JULIET

Join Shakespeare Squared, Theatre Royal’s Artists in Residence, as they screen three classic film adaptations of Shakespeare this autumn and winter.

The screenings are, Much Ado about Nothing, Thursday 8th October, Chimes at Midnight, Thursday 12th November and Romeo + Juliet, Monday 7th December 2026 all at 7:30pm.

In the run up to Christmas Deirdre, Eimear and Joe would like to invite you to join us in watching this classic and beloved film from 1996.

The familiar timeless story of the star crossed lovers is updated reinvigorated through an iconic aesthetic and vivid cinematic images.

We would encourage you to tap into your 90’s nostalgia and enjoy an early Christmas night out with us.

Each screening will be preceded by a short introduction by the company explaining why they’ve chosen the film and how it is relevant to their future plans.
