BUSKAID 2020 MOVES INDOORS AT THEATRE ROYAL WATERFORD
The Story
BuskAid, Ireland’s ‘Busk For Charity’ initiative in aid of homeless charities, was forced to move indoors and online this year due to public health concerns around people gathering on the streets to listen to live music.
The Waterford-based artists-led festival, which has raised nearly €22,000 since 2016 through live music and volunteering, will instead bring audiences a series of live stream gigs from Theatre Royal and other locations around the city this Christmas, with all proceeds going directly to the local branch of Tintean Housing Association.
Stubvid media (local comedian Steven Stubbs) will host a live stream ‘Variety Prize Show’ from the Theatre Royal BackStage Bar, 8-10pm on Monday, 21st December.
The gig will feature live entertainment from musical guests ‘Two Piece in a Pod’ and a number of other special guests, with lots of spot prizes to be won
The stream can be accessed on BuskAid and StubVid Media Facebook pages: https://www.facebook.com/StubVidMedia and https://www.facebook.com/BuskAidLive
At 8pm on Wednesday, 23rd December, the Buskaid team in partnership with Waterford in Your Pocket and Digicol Photography and Media Productions will host a collection of videos from local musicians and singers, including a number of sessions recently filmed here at Theatre Royal with Paul Dillon, Liam Merriman, Toucan and Omega Three.
